Dear Parents & Volunteer Coaches,
When I first started coaching, my goal was simple: climb the college ranks. I got a taste of that—but everything changed when my wife and I had our first son, Joey. Suddenly, my focus shifted from recruiting the next player to dreaming about the day Joey and I could play catch together.
We all know that iconic Field of Dreams moment—Ray Kinsella turns to his dad and asks, “Wanna have a catch?” That’s what it’s all about: sharing the game you love with someone you love.
Maybe baseball was a huge part of your childhood, maybe it wasn’t—but when your kid discovers the game, you want in. You might not know every swing or throw, but you already know the most important part: showing up, having fun, and making memories together.
That’s why we’re excited to offer monthly parent-coach clinics at Next Pitch for volunteer coaches in your program, as well as parents who are simply looking to share in the game of baseball or softball with their child. These 90-minute evening sessions will give you the skills, drills, and tips you can use at home or at the park—so you can help your child improve and make lasting memories. No experience needed—just bring a willingness to play.
So, mom or dad, grab a glove, come join us, and let’s make some “catch” memories together!
See you on the field,
Coach Chris
